A computer hard drive can be used to store large amounts of data, like photos, music, files and videos, as well as the computers operating system. A hard drive may also be referred to as a 'hard disk drive' (HDD) or (HD) for short. A computer must have at least one form of hard drive to function but can have multiple hard drives if additional storage is required.
