The collection & deletion of personal data
FasterBroadband previously hosted thousands of public reviews about internet service providers. While historical review data can highlight trends over time, it does not always reflect the current performance of providers or align with changing consumer expectations.

To enhance the relevance of our content, we have removed the public review feature and securely deleted all associated data, including names, email addresses, and IP addresses. This data was previously captured with the consent of the third party and is no longer collected or required on the site.

As part of our review process, we now incorporate recent insights from reputable sources such as Ofcom, Which?, and provider forums. These sources help us assess reliability and customer satisfaction, ensuring that our ISP broadband reviews on FasterBroadband provide an accurate and balanced view of provider performance.

Our goal is to deliver clear and up-to-date information so you can compare broadband deals by postcode and easily identify the broadband service that suits your needs. These updates were implemented in January 2025.

*To help you monitor your online security, our data breach checker allows you to check if your email address has appeared in any known data breaches. This facility securely communicates with Have I Been Pwned (HIBP) to retrieve breach information and display it directly on the FasterBroadband website. Any email address you enter is checked anonymously and is not collected, stored, or used by FasterBroadband. A secure connection is used throughout the process. *We also provide a broadband speed and availability checker, which allows you to check broadband speed at your address by entering your postcode and street level address. This tool shows the type of broadband connection and typical speeds you can expect at your address, based on address level data, not general UK averages. These results are more specific than the figures often shown by internet service providers, who usually display average speeds from at least 50% of their customers across the country. FasterBroadband does not store your postcode or address, only anonymised usage statistics are collected. Ofcom may also have access to information entered into this tool.
