The collection & deletion of personal data
FasterBroadband previously hosted thousands of public reviews about internet service providers. While historical review data can highlight trends over time, it does not always reflect the current performance of providers or align with changing consumer expectations.

To enhance the relevance of our content, we have removed the public review feature and securely deleted all associated data, including names, email addresses, and IP addresses. This data was previously captured with the consent of the third party and is no longer collected or required on the site.

As part of our review process, we now incorporate recent insights from reputable sources such as Ofcom, Which?, and provider forums. These sources help us assess reliability and customer satisfaction, ensuring that our ISP broadband reviews on FasterBroadband provide an accurate and balanced view of provider performance.

Our goal is to deliver clear and up to date information so you can compare broadband deals by postcode, with the option to select your address where available for more tailored results.

To help you monitor your online security, our data breach checker allows you to check if your email address has appeared in any known data breaches. This facility securely communicates with Have I Been Pwned (HIBP) to retrieve breach information and display it directly on the FasterBroadband website. Any email address you enter is checked anonymously and is not collected, stored, or used by FasterBroadband. A secure connection is used throughout the process. *FasterBroadband provides broadband comparison and availability tools that may ask you to enter a postcode and, where available, select a street level property address. This helps return more relevant broadband deals, connection types and speed information for your home rather than relying only on general postcode level results. FasterBroadband does not store the postcode or address you enter. The information is used only to retrieve or calculate the results shown during your visit, and any usage reporting is anonymised.

FasterBroadband offers a free live UK broadband speed test facility, which measures the performance of your current internet connection in real time. Following an update in March 2026, IP addresses are no longer displayed during the test process. FasterBroadband does not use this tool to visibly capture IP address information on the test interface.

Cookies
FasterBroadband does not use tracking or analytics cookies. We only use temporary session cookies that are necessary for the website to function correctly during your visit. These cookies are not used to build a profile of you or track you across other websites.
